I figured if they were used on cars from the factory there was a reason. Those Ramchargers probably had something to do with them being on production cars. I think they help the torque on the motor, but I do like mine.
If you check the junkyards a lot of the C body cars had cruise on them. I think the bracket holding the accelerator to carb is different but you may find one in one of those old C's. Brake light switch for cruise was different if I recall correctly too. I've seen upper and lower cables on eBay...
I put tape around the edges when I pull hinges and things off. It's a hack but makes everything lining up after you take it off easier. You can also drill a small hole in each hinge and use the drill bit to get it close when you reinstall everything.
Yeah for sure. Cloyes billet are nice ones. Hate to say but my Edelbrock one stretched after about 2 years. You can also fit the chain tensioner from the 5.9 motor under an la motor with some clearancing under the timing cover. A new camshaft thrust plate would also warrant replacing as you are...
Do you have a socket the same size you can use to try and push it through. You may also want to try some heat on it to see if expanding and contracting will loosen it up. Make sure to grease the new ones going in just in case you have to do it again.
Honestly DMT has some legit stuff. I'm getting that E body hood pad soon and a couple of other things. I bought the hood yo cowl seal and the metal clips were already in it. A real plug and play item. Much easier than the wiring harness....
