BTW, FEBO is probably one of the better-known E Body sites, but besides FacePlant, are there any other E body sites that gets a lot of traffic, where this engine might be seen by the owner with the original car?
I haven't dropped the oil pan yet, but there was a complete set of 6 pack rods that were included with all the parts I picked up with this engine.
As for the harmonic balancer, I'm pretty sure all HP engines came with an externally balanced damper, U or V.
Its actually A9, Charcoal Poly...kinda wish this color was coded as A4, just for the name...Light Gun Metal.
IMO , its a fitting name for something that looks and feels like your driving an air craft carrier.
I've owned it for 20 years.
The closest thing to an E Body I have is the HP engine that came out of one. (see my other post made today)
But been around Mopar a while, currently have 2 Imperials (69&72), a 71 NYer, a 70 Coronet R/T and a 61 Pioneer wagon.
Hey Josh,
We hung out at Carlisle couple times. and we PM'd recently over on C bodies. (fender tag/build sheet stuff)
The date code on the block sure is close to the one you're hunting.
I actually thought about messaging you about this engine, but ya beat me to it.
Tim
.....gotta good laugh...
This is not a “For Sale” post. It’s more of a “Found” post.
I picked up a pretty big haul of parts recently, including this 1970 HP2 440, and was told it came out of a Charger. I thought it was a good score, since we don’t stumble upon these HP engines any more like we used to.
After doing...
Been over on FBBO since 2012, FCBO since 2013, where most my online activity has been, and in 2021 joined FM&J.
Don't know why it took me so long to end up here, but hopefully I can contribute to another family.
