Temp Cable for heater valve control

So I finally got around to routing this and the inner cable/wire seems to be too long. Any advice here? I was thinking of heating it and coiling it around the valve’s connection point, then trimming the extra. Don’t want to ruin the cable tho in case I’m looking at it wrong.

Might be worth noting I am using the four seasons valve and not the original.

I ran into the same issue with the aftermarket valve. Bent a new loop in the wire and trimmed the excess. Works fine.

I think you need the part in pic on post 14 called "self adjusting clip".
It hooks onto the cable then slides onto the pin on the water valve.
It's not really self adjusting though.
