No I didn’t. I kinda lost interest when I kept seeing what I thought were lesser quality hoods and I already had my RT hood painted. There are some original nice TA hoods out there but I feel they ought to go towards restoration of actual TA’s
I’ve got a brand new set (2024) still in the boxes, of Legendary black front and rear sheet covers for a 70 challenger. I also have new front seat buns. I can deliver to Carlisle.
Fire started from a battery tender. Yeah I understand all the differences in the years. When I say tribute it is a non-Numbers matching car. I call it FrankenDodge as it’s got parts from 70, 71, 72, 73, 74… Will you get the picture. It’ll be an extremely nice driver 440 6 pack four-speed car...
Terrywalker mentioned Palco. I assume that’s a manufacturer of door panels? Are they high-quality? I lost all of my interior in a fire recently and have to replace mine and want decent quality. I’m going to Carlisle next month so any education that you guys can give me on interior quality I...
Thanks for the advice. Yes both seats got burned up and one is still under all the rubble. I have secured a really good set of 74 Cuda seats so now I’ve got buns and a full set of legendary seat covers to sell for a 70. I guess I’ll be taking those to Carlisle with me.
Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I remember one of those from my 70 challenger back in college. Currently I’m using a plastic one that is sold by Gates and manufactured by Motorad. They are unvented but you can take apart the one-way valve and make them vented if you need to. They’re usually...
I recently lost all of my interior in a garage fire from my 70 tribute project. I’m getting ready to go to Carlisle to see if I can replace my lost items. I don’t have a problem with new Repop stuff but I know there are several different companies that make it and just curious which ones are the...
I will definitely check out unlimited. I was hoping for a more finished unit but at least I have some options. AAR became Stinger. I tried to contact them last fall only to find out they closed last May.
Heminut; let me know if you get by El Paso and what you think of their product.

The pictures look good but I know they can be deceiving. This is for a tribute car so accuracy isn’t paramount but I do want it to be nice.
Now that AAR Fiberglass/stinger Fiberglass is out of business who makes a great quality hood for the TA? I found a place near Chicago but they actually have the front of the snorkel Fiberglassed down to the hood. What about the place in El Paso? Anybody seen their hoods?
Anybody have an AAR...
Thanks. I’m fairly familiar with six packs. This is not a concours resto. Been there, done that. It’s a very nice R/T tribute car. Had I not bought the sixpack set-up about 15 years ago I’d probably go with a modern 4 barrel.
Wow! That will be very helpful. When I get in the house I’ll actually compare the two pans because I know the 402 is used quite often. At first class it looks like the 971 should work.
Thanks Daves69
I really like the way the ductile iron ones look. That’s probably an offshoot from the mid 60s if I had to guess. I would have to buy all new push rods also so that may be a Plan B. I’ll have to see how bad my originals look when I start assembling it
Thanks guys. I will look into all those options. I hate to say it but once I get this thing done it probably won’t ever get more than 10,000 miles on it in my lifetime.
