Hi guys, here is a little update on my project. We picked up my car last month after a long wait for an acid bath. Metal works is an amazing facility and Bo and his guys are great to work with. For those that don't know they are in Eugene, Oregon.
Came back pretty much as I expected. The only...
Man I've looked at a lot of these over the last couple weeks and seen some painted the same as the car and I've seen them black. My 70 challenger I painted them the same as the car.
What is the factory color?
So I'm doing some pre body work intell on my 70 plymouth barracuda while its getting the rust and paint removed. I have searched around on the internet but can't come up with the configuration that probably came with the car when new. Am I on the right track thinking the tail panel should be the...
Ok , so I dropped off the car at metal works in Eugene, Oregon a few weeks ago. Incredible shop up there. Over 30 classic cars of all different makes in line ahead of mine. The guys were great helping me roll off the car and loose items. It'll be a 3 month wait for me to get the car back so it...
That dash will look sic against your blue paint! You original question is something I may face when I get my car back from the acid dip. Although I'll be replacing a lot of the sheet metal and the frames rails, the radiator, firewall and cowl both seem solid. Worse comes to worse I will save...
Right on! Let the good times roll! Going to be a very nice ride. Lol, don't forget new billboards.
I plan on doing a shaker on my restoration And I have looked everywhere for a hood.
Just none around, stocked, back ordered, or in production. So, let me know if you find one. The trim ring and...
Yep this one will be fun. Looking forward to the whole process. It's cool to think these cars are 50 years old and us owners are taking care of them or restoring them to last another 50 years!
The other car is my 70 Challenger. The rust wasn't bad on that one but it was just a shell with a...
Ok, I'm not big on pictures of my restorations or documenting anything I've done to a car except for a long list of parts, prices and places I got them on an excel sheet.
But on this car, I'm going to make an exception. It's my forth e body convertible. It's my first numbers matching car. It's...
Ok guys, my next convertible project arrived last night and I spent the day figuring out what needs to be replaced. Pretty much the normal stuff, front inner fenders, 1 full quarter panel, floor pans, header panel and probably new valance's. I will be adding a shaker hood on this one.
I looked...
Thanks TW. But I've been down that road. The new pillar trims I got were a quarter inch wider than the og trim. Which I thought was strange. And after I cut them there's no way it would fit inside the metal right angle trim. I was thinking how can this be? Seems like they should all, convert...
I need the right or passenger side trim. It clips on to the pillar and buts the dash pad on the bottom and buries in the right angle metal trim piece on the top.
I don't see any after market convertible pieces. I see the hardtop versions but I think those are bigger for some reason?
Thanks
These are the 2 end shafts that the rubber tip slides on to on the end of the visor and clips into the rear view mirror. I think about 3" long and have a taper on one end and a groove on the other end.
thanks!
