I had a similar situation with a hood latch and evaporust. Your dilemma supports my theory to NEVER use evaporust on ANY type of spring. The results are never good. You could get the appropriate size music wire and build a new spring, otherwise it might be just as easy to get another license...
Not sure if this is of any use. Look at it and let me know. Also, AMD does re-pop the rear package tray. It is around $500. Package Tray - 70-74 Challenger Package Tray | AMD 640-2570
I am following all the great suggestions and from the looks of it, this will help others with similar conditions. I appreciate all those who have chimed in, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am looking at putting on an electric fuel pump for one of my Challengers. It is a 383 car and does not get a lot of attention, and know that an electric fuel pump would insure a faster start after sitting by getting fuel back to the car before even cranking. I would by pass the mechanical pump...

1973-1974 Rear Bumper Filler parts that are often missing that fills the space from the body to the bumper for Challenger only. There are three of the straight sections and 3 of the curved sections. The curved sections have some of the original studs for attaching to the rear of the body. The...
Left and right rear quarter window regulators for 70-74 Challengers only. These will bolt in the Barracuda/Cuda, but the handle will not fit correctly. Do not buy them for anything other than the 70-74 Challengers. The teeth are very nice and have no rounded sections. IO probably can find a set...
1970-1971 Mopar E-body 6-way drivers side seat adjuster. Both buttons are very nice and in place. Included is a pair of under frame braces that are needed for installation. They are reproductions from PG Classics that sell for $138. Look closely at the springs and the interconnect from the left...
From what I have been able find out, these fit late 71 and later seat release buttons. Two of them are really nice and one is definitely for a driver. There is only one of the retaining clips and would work for making a new one. These are available as aftermarket reproductions but these are the...
