    Decent welding helmet under $200?

Need a new welding helmet as mine is pretty old and beat so need to put it on my Christmas list. Maybe even under $150 but I don`t want some cheap crap. I`m just a hobbyist so don`t need anything fancy - what`s out there for deals?

Looking for original part paint colors for restoration

The underneath should NOT be painted full body color, it should be primer with body color overspray ONLY from painting the exterior of the car.

    Original door hinge paint?

Not only should the hinges be painted body color the door panel screws look incorrect. Not restored to a very high standard IMO.

    Hagerty or Grundy??

I had a claim with Hagerty about 6 years ago, the worst most stressfull, aggravating three month long process I have ever had to go thru. I dumped Hagerty and went with Grundy, a bit cheaper but no claims yet.

    AAR project

340s can go .060 over but obviously best to sonic check first, otherwise sleeves are cheap and easy if needed to save the block.

How many of you are doing your own restoration versus having someone else do the work ?

I painted mine is `95 in the barn board garage in this pic - gaps between the boards, open rafters etc. I used an old DeVilbiss JGA siphon feed gun, a Sears 5hp 30 gallon compressor that couldn`t keep up and a box house fan in the side door. Yes, there was a LOT of wet sanding and buffing to do...

How many of you are doing your own restoration versus having someone else do the work ?

The Barracuda had every outer body panel replaced including the roof after the sandblaster warped the crap out of it even though I told him not to do the roof! Also had the usual trunk floor and extensions, parts of the rear frame rails and plenty of small patches, and that was before most sheet...

How many of you are doing your own restoration versus having someone else do the work ?

I do 98% of the work myself, mostly self taught with help from friends and a stint as a bodyman/painter for 10 years starting out as a green apprentice and ending up doing major crash work. I don`t have the tools to set up rear end gears and don`t mess with transmissions, obviously engine...

    AAR project

I have the factory 273 adjustable arms on my 340 with J heads but not sure if those work with T/A heads. I did find these - Small Block Chrysler 340 T/A Iron Oem Iron single shaft

Got third place in a slalom competition against newer Corvettes and Mustangs!

My competition - the hot rod and red Camaro were part of a separate burnout competition and not shown is a C6 Corvette fully prepped for autocross and road racing that won 1st and a brand new Corvette that got 2nd. I beat the three Mustangs, the late `80`s Camaro and the Chevelle with much...

Got third place in a slalom competition against newer Corvettes and Mustangs!

A show I went to on Sunday was held at a local circle track and held both a burnout and a slalom event. I have hundreds of passes at the dragway and won King of the street twice but have always wanted to try an autocross type event so I signed up for it. We had one trial run and one competition...

    AAR project

My dream car would be a four speed AAR but if I had a bench seat column auto I would have to leave it that way.
