I had pretty much the same size and I definitely remember it was more than a "cut and a bend"! It took considerable grinding to get enough clearance for those magnets!

Also, push the threaded part of the screws into a piece of cardboard to paint them, it holds the screws up nicely while painting them.

It will take a lot of modification to get those to fit!

When I first put aftermarket speakers in mine years ago I had to get in there with a rotary file in a drill and open up the substructure quite a bit to clear the magnets on the speakers. It was not an easy task! When I replaced my dashpad a couple of years ago the cones were shot in the speakers...

I didn't put a center speaker in my dash. I didn't want to mess with fitting something in there since I have the two outer speakers, the two rear deck speakers and the speakers in the front door panels. BTW, I didn't put the speakers in the door panels, I would have never hacked up the door...

You might try 0000 steel wool, it definitely won't hurt the glass.

This has come up pretty much every year since the new Challenger was put into production. It's all wishful thinking!
