Wondering if this is an issue , the 2 ribs that go around the tray do not hit here , it's a 402 oil pan , I didn't want to use sealer but only 1 rib touches here , any advice.
Looking into the windage tray for my 383 auto with a stamped 402 oil pan , lots of different opinions , are longer bolts required with the molded windage tray , and also have read some use sealant and some do not .
I am working on changing the plugs and wires soon so I labeled them where they are now . It looks like they are facing the wrong way and the vacuum is pointing towards the battery . I know when I drove it home 2 months ago it rattle on acceleration , is this why . When the weather gets warmer...
Has anyone used Lectric wires with long tube headers and do they fit and if not what angle of boots to use for the spark plug end straight , 90 or 135 . Possibly Accel or Taylor .
Just wondering what everyone has on a 383 auto , I have MSD Street Fire straight on the spark plug , 90s look like they might be better , less wire , or does that put the wire too close to the engine , any opinions .
Looking it over and found a little gash in it , not sure if there will be an issue on sealing , plus a couple corners a very slightly uneven but probably ok .
Rookie mistake here , had heavy grease on pushrod and went to install and just messed up and it fell , I tried to get it with a magnet tool but heard it fall lower I think , could it be in the oil pan or stuck on crankshaft , I was planning on replacing the oil pan anyways , I guess I wont know...
Before I call I want to know if this is easily fixed . This is a Saginaw pump , " canned ham style " , looks great but the top bolt has gaps in it , do I just add washers to tighten it up , the bottom bolt fits but it hits the motor and I can't fit the belt on at all , do I just get a bigger...
Since I have rubber hoses from fuel pump to carb was looking at heat sheathing , anyone use this and is it worth it , also what power steering fluid y'all use , thanks for any info .
So the Federal power steering pump leaked everywhere from the front and I just ordered the Saginaw set up from 440 Source . Today I went to put it on and the bracket was off and the pulley was too big for the belt plus it did not match up with the other pulley , anybody have issues installing...
Finally got the cuda back from shop but when driving home it had like a spray paint can rattle when giving it gas not at idle plus there was a huge fuel smell which looks like the pump because it had fuel on top of the pump , its in the garage right now to cold and too much snow to take it back...
The shop where my cuda is can't get the trans and trans pan to stop leaking , they called another shop and said that's just the 727 , it's an old problem . Is there known issues with this , even with a new pan .
1st of all Im not sure if they worked before I took it to the shop but they installed all new wiring under dash and engine bay , everything works now except the wiper keeps blowing a fuse when turned on , the shop says its internal and the wiper motor needs replaced , does this sound like a...
Opinions are welcome , I have a Phillips with EO 91 about 10 miles away or BP with 93 but 10% ethanol 3 miles away , driving to get gas isn't a problem just wondering what people use , I have a 383 TF with a mild cam and an Edelbrock .
