thx for this. Ill trace the wires from amp meter back to alternator. Maybe the resto shop did not wire the amp meter to correct wires. Maybe just to a 12 volt line and not amp line.
on other Mopars I have owned (73 Challenger, 74 Duster) when I turn headlights on for example, the guage would jump up to charge then settle back to center. My Cuda does not. Also when I crank the car a few times (after its sat for a few weeks) on my past Mopars the gauge would rise up to 1/3...
Thanks in advance.
My 73 Cuda amp gauge barely moves even during starting, turning lights on, etc.
I am getting 13.5 -13.8 volts while the car is running, however the needle on the gauge just sits in the middle.
I have already replaced the gauge and no change.
The car has a Painless wiring...
Thanks for opinions in advance.
Question: Mod a #'s matching 340 Cuda to increase power or sell to someone who keeps it stock?
I have inherited my dads 73 Cuda, 340 all numbers matching.
I sold my 95 Viper (loved that car) to make room for the Cuda as I could not justify keeping both cars as I...

Im considering installing the EDL-2049 Top End Kit on my 340. 340 was rebuilt to stock about 3,000 miles ago, and lacks some power. Has anyone heard feedback good or bad on the this kit or any Edelbrock Top End Kits?
Thanks in advance. Im looking for a reputable engine shop to upgrade the top end of my 340 Cuda. Engine was rebuilt about 3,000 miles ago, runs well but Im looking for another 75-100 HP. I believe cam, heads and larger carb would be a good place to start.
as Ronbo7 said , do you have a fan shroud?
It makes a big difference as it forces 100% of rad surface to have air drawn through it = max cooling.
360 is not a big motor and should have no issue cooling in hot weather of CA.
I have '73 Cuda in SoCal and drove around last few weeks, up and down...
I had similar issue found my timing to far advanced at idle. Cold started perfect. Hot start battery could barely turn motor over. Found at 800rpm I think about 24 degrees advance, moved it back to 8 degrees at idle, not a problem since.:icon_fU:
I cant speak to poly, but my 727 mount was completely shot and only reason I knew that was strange knocking noise occasionally under my seat LOL. Once I checked it out...no rubber left.
Ordered new one off Amazon $15 bucks.
Purists shield your eyes.
I now have a hybrid Cuda. Honda parts in the dash.
Thanks member "Coupe" great tip and fit perfect once I shaved off some small tabs on the backside of the pocket.
I found this on eBay
No more wires in the opening for me to stare at.
Yes if your grandson could do that, I would really apprecaite it. While this isnt the best option , short term its better than looking at the wires under the dash.
I had two supposedly knowledgeable TQ people take a shot at rebuilding my 73 TQ, both failed as it just would not idle well enough for my preference. So I kept the TQ for originality in case I ever sell the car and bought a Edelbrock 600 CFM with auto choke. Best thing I ever did, installed it...
thx in advance. I dont have the original radio and wanted to install a delete plate, however Im finding those unavailable. If anyone has blocked off the radio opening and it looks good, please share some pics and what you did.
Worst case Ill find a good used working radio and add in the dash...
I purchased the Inline Tubes 73 Cuda fuel line. I moved up from 5/16 to 3/8 in the process. Excellent product. Bent nearly perfect ( once I rolled out the full lines as directed).
I was a bit worried if I could get the entire one piece tube in without cutting it, but sure enough I fed the long...
