What year, I was typing when you posted.

My 1970 manual (black feed wire) lists a 1003 bulb. I can’t imagine ‘71 and up (brown feed wire) would use a different bulb. Maybe someone with a 71+ can check theirs.

Out of curiosity, is it a 2 speed or variable/3sp setup. I’m having trouble making it out in your avatar.

I took mine out of the car to check it out. That entire center thing moves up and down on mine and I can see the feed wire move the same amount. It's hard to tell if yours is stuck up or down. Did you try to unplug the wiper motor from the bulkhead connector then turn on the switch and see if the fuse still blows?

Found the 1972 Barracuda wiring pics I saved on my computer and it looks to be the same as my '70.

Definitely on the wrong side, that seal isn’t sealing anything.

I made these pics for someone else on another site so might as well share them here too - engine side and interior side. I did this when converting from a standard gauge to a rallye gauge.
