i would love to have one of each for sure. I think i might have to choose between another one and the wife. haha.
Correction, i did find out the 440 is in fact matching afterall. they were mistaken. numbers line up. it was originally auto and now turned into 4 speed however but nice to see...
Curious to see if anyone thinks I’m crazy for this or pretty even deal.
I have numbers matching 383 auto 70 Cuda I’m think about trading for a 70 Challenger RT triple black u code 4-speed car.
The challenger is not matching numbers however. It does have fender tag though.
I know it all comes...
I went with FM super 40’s since I got a really good price on them. I like the sound better than the Dynos I had on there but if money was no object I think I would go another route. They are actually a little more tame sounding than I expected but more aggressive than what was on there.
Yeah it does seem that FM would make the most noticeable difference at idle. I have an offset inlet and centered out on the DM ones and they are 14". I was looking at FM 40 series or super 40 as a possibility.
I currently have Dynomax turbos on my 70 Cuda which are fine but pretty tame and quiet for my liking. Any suggestions for a meaner muffler especially at idle? Its a pretty stock 383, mild cam with exhaust manifolds, 2.25 or 2.5 pipes. Just looking for a little more louder true classic muscle car...
Recently had my 383 refreshed in my 70 cuda. Can’t for the life of me figure out what this part is and what’s it’s for. Runs fine without it. Was plugged in the wiring harness but just flipping around by the air cleaner and distributor. It’s a california built car so wasn’t sure if it had...
Thanks for the warm welcome! I’m glad I found this forum. I have a few head scratching issues going on now I will post to the tech forum this week for sure.
Thank you! The Coronet is much rougher. Some rust and fenders are pretty shot. Runs but needs kickdown. I just bought the lokar cable for it but I have to get the bracket for the trans.
Thank you! What part of NC are you in? I do have owner history going back around 30 years. The guy I bought it from had it for 21 years in Ohio. I traced back the previous owner before that as well.
Here are a few photos of 70 Cuda. Factory 383/727 from the LA plant. 3:55 sure grip 8 3/4. FE5 Rallye red. Just had the engine and trans freshened and rebuilt less than a year ago. Pretty stock, mild erson cam.
