I live in the middle of nowhere so performance shops are out but I will try a new box and see if that helps also will check the distributor cap , thanks for your input

here's what I have, just got a 70 cuda with a 472 hemi auto tranny it starts good runs good idles good burns the tires good until i hit wot then it backfires and runs terrible until I let off runs good right through 3/4 throttle it has a 4150 holley vacum secondaries jets are 80 front 82 back...
