    remote hood latch cable

Thank you Quapman! Between you and dadeo1852, I think I got this figured out! It took more than a Philips screwdriver to gently force the correct pan head screws through the holes in the latch support - makes me think those holes were never used before. They were "virgin" if you will pardon the...

    remote hood latch cable

Thanks so much again! The screw is hard to remove but maybe a picture of the tip of the screw sticking out of the latch support would be enough to help us identify it.

    remote hood latch cable

My latch support doesn't have "weld nuts" on the back for the screws that hold the hood release cable bracket. It has two holes but they are deformed around the holes so the metal protrudes (like a funnel shape) toward the rear of the car. Like it would for sheetmetal screws to grab onto

    remote hood latch cable

Upon looking at photos posted by Dadeo1852 the screws appear to be Phillips pan head screws. Right? Are they self tapping machine or sheet metal screws? I can't seem to find any screws that fit the holes. Are they coarse or fine threaded screws?

    remote hood latch cable

Dadeo1852 or anyone who knows the answer, What kind of screws or bolts (and size) are correct for holding the "hood release cable bracket" to the latch support? There are two holes in my latch support and the sheet metal of the support "protrudes" rearward around the two screw holes. I thought...

    WTB hood release cable bracket

my car has the hood release cable mounted wrong -- I need the little bracket that holds the release cable to the vertical latch support. See photo (courtesy of forum member dadeo---). I live in SoCal if anyone local has one to sell.

Thanks! I can visualize the part!

    remote hood latch cable

Thanks! Great pictures! How does the bracket attach to the vertical latch support? I see 2 holes in the vertical support -- does the bracket screw to those 2 holes? I know it's not likely you have a picture of the end view of the bracket but I assume it's U-shaped or Z-shaped so the screws can...

    remote hood latch cable

Thanks dadeo1852! I read the thread again and there is mention of a bracket. Mine's missing. And my latch should have a round tab for the cable "noose" to slip over. My latch has a lever with a small hole in it. The latch will work but it's not as cool as the round tab. But what I really need is...

    remote hood latch cable

Dadeo1852, many thanks for those pics of the hood release cable!! My car came with the cable running on top near the base of the pop up spring! It's hard to pull to pop the hood! I knew something was wrong! Is there a bracket that holds the cable end to the latch support? Anyone have one to sell...

    Suggestions for aftermarket steering wheel

Thanks guys! You've convinced me my 72 cuda came with the 2-spoke with holes (which I don't prefer the looks of) and someone changed it to the Tuff Wheel (which looks better to me). I also conclude an OE Tuff Wheel is 14.25" outside diameter while the Grant replica is 15" so that's how u tell...

    Suggestions for aftermarket steering wheel

Updates: after searching eBay my old worn out wheel may be an original "Tuff Wheel". I guess the way to know for sure is to look for factory markings on the back of it. The Grant aftermarket wheel looks similar. Diameter may also be a clue: I believe the OEM Tuff Wheel measures 14.25" outside...

    Suggestions for aftermarket steering wheel

Thanks, Ed. I think what I have is a Grant 846 Classic Nostalgia (foam grip) wheel. It looks a lot like mine. And Grant's website says it has the same bolt pattern as the original Tuff Wheel so it is a direct replacement. I guess the previous owner took the OEM wheel and installed this $180...

    Suggestions for aftermarket steering wheel

Nice Cuda Ed. From your picture, it appears I may have the stock center horn button, which I assume is a reliable design (won't pop off some day)? Does anyone know what aftermarket steering wheel I have (Grant sells a lot that look like mine)? And how the stock horn button bolts on? I'm also...

    Suggestions for aftermarket steering wheel

My steering wheel is foam which probably means it's aftermarket. The foam is pretty beat up. Can anyone suggest an aftermarket wheel that has a classic look and a reliable horn button or switch? I say this because the Grant steering wheels seem to have a spring loaded center horn cap (horn...
