As many of you have commented. Many of us have modified our cars or bought them so modified by now the tag does't mean very much. That said, an originally built 6pk or Hemi; that tag may be worth more money than the actual car. I'm sure many of you have gone to the Nationals and see cars...
I have plans for Billboard stripes and black vinyl top. I wanted purple but black doesn't have enough contrast from Plum Crazy and a white billboard with white vinyl top turned the whole back of the car white. So I went with Curious Yellow.
Is there someone here at EBodies that knows if I can use my 72 fuel tank sending unit for a '71 Gran Coupe (Low Fuel) indicator?
If not, does anyone make the '71 version and will it fit in the 72 tank with no issues or modifications beyond wiring?
I'm sorry for your loss. I let go of a T-boned 71 back in the 80s. It would have cost a 17yr old a lot of money to fix it back then, but it was a cool car.
Thanks Mr. Psycho . I'll start with this list. I don't have a good way to drop the body down on to the K-frame. I'll likely have to drop the engine in from the top and hope to keep it off the paint. I have 8' ceilings and a chain fall on a track. I may be able to rig something to lift...
Does anyone know where I can find the Hamtramck (or any) build sequence for a 1971 Gran Coupe Barracuda? Mine is coming back from paint in a couple weeks.
I tore it apart in 1993. I sure didn't take it apart in reverse order but I'd like to assemble it correctly so I don't have to take...
Wow, I'm surprised that this thread already has two hits on it! The contact I use is: cbcheim@gmail.com
I don't believe I should say how much it cost me. This is large so shipping is gonna be a cost hit on top of the part itself. I'm sure it varies pending where you live from St Louis.
I got a hold of Claude from SE Headliners last fall. I picked up my black trimmed headliner just before Christmas. I have not taken it out of the box. My car is in the paint booth getting covered with GY3. He's still out there. Give him a couple months notice and I'm sure he can supply you...
Does anyone have a number / Email / website for Dayclona? I found a couple phone numbers but they don't work and the only Email I found also bounced back. SE headliners I think is also no longer making parts.
Just for clarity, the brackets "I" pictured are the ones on the cowl to support the fenders. I'm using them on my 71 conversion . I don't know what the brackets are used for at the start of this post. I don't have anything like them.
I've torn my 72 down to nothing and I don't recall these parts. These appear to be a left and right thing. The "U" shaped opening to me screams rubber vibration mounting. Does this car have an AC condenser. I looked but did not find this bracket in the Classic Industries parts book either...
Phil, I should have been looking for this back in the summer from the sounds of things. Has Dayclona completed this run? Do you think I can order one still? Thank you, Tom
I can speak from experience. My 72 came with a /6. I put a 383 with a 391 rear gear in it back in 82. I went from 19s to 14s. If I would have put smaller tires on the rear I'm sure it would have been in the 13s. You will be amazed!!. Mine rusted off the wheels but I've almost got it back...
