Does anyone know of a source for the mounting clips for the hood lip molding for a Challenger T/A? They need to be slightly longer than the standard clips due to the thickness of the fiberglass hood. 3/4" would probably work.
Thx.
I believe you all are correct, attached a picture of the pad, appears they stamped a W over the date, likely stands for warranty. Thinking this block was sold 5/11/72 as replacement block.
Thx.
I have a 440 block that supposedly came out of a 1970 6 pack cuda. Casting 2536430. production date 11/10/69. I can find no serial number, possibly warrant replacement? Plate by distributor has stamping S 440 and 5 11 2, not familiar with these numbers. Any ideas? Is there a difference between a...
Just got my T/A back from mechanic who adjusted my 6 pack and tuned the engine. He is a retired mopar mechanic who spent much of his life working on these cars. He says however that he is not a transmission mechanic and my car has an issre with the auto trans. He says the car moves about 10 feet...
Linkage in place, the master cylinder spring seems to be working fine, it returns the pedal to normal position when the car is not running. It does seem to be stuck when I remove the unit after depressing the pedal with the car running and booster operating. Front calipers are on correctly, have...
Finished my T/A a couple of years ago but have been struggling with brake issues and am at my wits end. Problem was soft pedal and brake light coming on when applying brakes. All new brake system components and rebuilt original power booster. In trying to resolve the problem I replaced master...
Looking for column lock out linkage for floor shift 1970 challenger. I have z bar but not certain its the correct one. With linkage adjusted per shop manual, can't get shifter beyond drive. i.e. can't manually shift to second or first gear. Believe I have the correct linkage between z bar and...
The car I with the vin above the back window was a 1970 challenger I worked on several years back. Did not take a picture. The car I believe had a replacement roof or a portion of the roof replaced during an earlier repair. The vin stamped on the roof did not match the vin on the car so I am not...
Thanks, that helped. Although my bleeder hole is in a different location I got lucky and found it. I removed one of the vacuum pods and it tested fine. Then by plugging the bleeder hole and the vacuum pod port I got vacuum to hold fine. Reinstalled the pod and again nothing. Again removing the...
Had my 340 six pack rebuilt by Chicago Carburetor. Had some issues with leakage from the bowls since none of the screws were tightened properly. Car now runs fine but front and rear carbs don't open. Both have new vacuum pods. I bought a vacuum pump and when I hook it to either the front or rear...
Checked my 72 Cuda and that car has about the same in and out movement and the car only has 40,000 original miles and does not leak so I am hoping the seal will solve the problem.
It does move in and out about 1/16 of an inch when turning the wheel back and forth. Goes down the road straight and handles well. I see a lot of people switching to the boxes you noted, this is a numbers mathching car however with the quick ratio steering option that came with AAR and T/A...
Finally warm enough to get my car on the road, and now I have a leak in my power steering box. It appears to be the worm gear seal, and I have ordered a new one. My concern is that it is not an intermittent drip, when I run the car and turn the steering wheel it is a fairly steady stream. I saw...
Thanks a ton. That does answer my question. It appears the shifter linkage and column lock attach to the same arm. The lower linkage rod that I purchased may have to be modified or exchanged however. I don't believe the stud on mine is long enough to accept the transmission arm and also extend...
I have found diagrams of both levers, but have not seen a picture with both actually installed. It appears the shift lever may be straight and the steering column lock has a 90 degree bend?
Not sure how to PM on this site, if you can contact me I will reply. I am interested in the lower lever, I will be buying a kick down complete set which I believe will provide me the upper one. I still need another lever however to hook to the linkage for my steering column lock.
Hooking up my linkage, 1970 Challenger T/A, but my transmission does not have the gear shift connector. I see some on ebay but not sure what the 1970 should look like. I assume I need 2? One to attach my floor shifter linkage rod, and another one going to my steering wheel lock out rod? Or do...
