Vinyl roof is off. Addressing corrosion Interior is gutted, attacking the windshield and rear window corrosion. New glass ordered...lot's of sound deadening and POR-15 action. Corrosion was addressed and passivated using corrosion inhibitor prior to POR 15.
Wheels are gone...car wasn't sitting right and rode extremely stiff. I chose and installed Year One 70-74 Rallye Wheel staggered set. 17x9 and 17x8 better look and probably will be a better ride. I have all the glass out and am addressing the vinyl top issue. Have any ideas on where I can source custom vinyl top materials? I want to change from Black to dark Argent to match the center caps of the Rallye Wheels.
Club members: after about 8-months of work:
1. Fixing roof corrosion.
2. Hand-sanding and re-coating interior frame work doors etc. in body color
3. Sourcing a twin scoop hood
4. Passivation / POR-15 Treatment of trunk and passenger compartment
5. FatMat sound-barrier material installation in trunk and passenger compartment
6. Windshield and rear glass replacement with genuine glass from classic industries
7. Sourcing all new Stainless Steel exterior trim. (70%)
8. Trying to source all trim clips (very hard to get...still need the vinyl Trim clips)
9. My buddy sanded prepped and applied stock color to include painting on the factory-specific black stripe.
10. Found a 1973 / 340-1 long block to mate up with the A904 transmission. Still on the waiting list to get it in machine shop. Motor was locked (rust). Dis-assembled and needs honing etc.
11. Sourced beautiful 17x8 and 17x9 Year One Rallye Wheels. Put a nice set of Michlin Radials on them.
More additions. My buddy and I opted for Chrysler Black Metallic for the body stripe. Meadow Gold has a bit of pearl to give depth to the color. Astounding change. Took it to a show as a In-Work category and actually won.
