I snagged a 1970 shortblock that has been sitting along time. It is STD bore, block/crank/pistons all together. I very gently tried rolling it over and it is not moving but I doubt it would take much to free it up.

The casting is 2536430 and the build date is Jan 1970

The pad only says F440 and below that a 3 and a 5...not sure if they are meant to be together or not

Anyway, what is a standard bore 440 from 1970 worth? As mentioned has the forged crank with it along with original pistons and rods all still assembled.

I decided not to build it and let someone who cares about date codes/correctness have it but I don't know what to ask.

Not sure what the difference is if it had said HP block..

What is the vin code stamping that is located on the passengers side, middle of block, just above the oil pan mounting rail.
It should be a two letter and six number sequence.
I'm looking for JS23V0B211303 and the block would have 0B211303 on the milled boss that is on the passengers side.
Would look like the picture.
