I'm told that the aftermarket 1971 'cuda rocker moldings are of poor quality straight out of the box; machining tool marks, blotchy finish, etc. Aside from NOS (good luck) what has been your experience with these? Thanks.

I believe 71 rocker molding is different from 72. 71 original rocker moldings are out there, but the condition is not perfect. If you can find one in excellent condition it will be costly.

I would think they have to be pretty darn shoddy if anyone is going to notice how poorly they're made. They go way down there under the doors, and unless you have a show car being inspected under glass, it may be a non-issue to use some reproduction ones... until you find that nice set you can afford.

72 mouldings are shorter than 71.
Something like 3/4" on each end.
Clips and mounting is the same.
I could measure, but shorter.
At least they are available.
