This would make a nice project car. Did you notice the K-frame tag? Not the round coin, but an oblong tag which I don't think I have seen before.

Unusual K frame coin. Mine has has the round tag for a 70- 340-383 k frame
I understand that the factory would sometimes re-purpose a k frame and weld a new tag on to an earlier/ other purpose frame. Not sure on this?

Had a cellphone "handshake" with the guy to purchase for $9K prior to the end of the auction...got my airline tickets and arranged transportation and all. He said that he didn't care what it ended up at he would sell to me for the agreed price. Well...he didn't end the auction early as I requested and it went to $14K. He backed out on his word with me and sold it on eBay!

My dad would tell me when I was young that most men have a dollar figure that will cause them to backout on a handshake and a deal...I guess for this guy it was $5K!

Sorry that happened to you, really sucks that you lost out on the car. It is getting more difficult to find a convertible project for a decent price! Owner stated he paid $8500 K for the car originally. Wonder when he bought it?
