Tried to install a headliner, though to be for an e body. 5 bow no clips. After getting started and connecting the back bow with the two rods (all the rods are in and in place) I pulled the top forward and none of the rods would stay up, they all leaned forward like there is to much space between rods and the liner is to big. The kit also came with two sail pnls which I don't think are needed. Any suggestion? I have ordered another liner.

No sail panels, no clips needed, but there are two small wires that connect the rear bow to holes near the back window. These prevent the bow from being pulled forward too far. The holes face forward on the roof structure and are just inward of the joint. If you don’t have these wires it will be tough unless you fab some up...

Are the rods in the correct order? They are color coded, but generally get smaller towards the front, if I recall...

Easier with the windows out, but not impossible with them in..

After I installed the two small wires in the rear for my 71 Barracuda headliner, I used a bungee cord to keep the bows pulled forward as they wanted to fall backwards. It only takes a small amount of tension to keep them from falling backwards. I also had to cut the headliner bow cloth towards the center, about an inch or so on each side to give room to pull the headliner taut when gluing the sides. Rod

I saw a picture where the challenger had sail panel boards that were uncovered and under the headliner. challenger headliner - Google Search:
