Hi

Wanted to know if any knows where the tach wire on the engine side of bulkhead attached to? I believe it connects through the bulkhead

anyone have a pic?

Also

I have non-rally dash. So I assume there is no wiring harness under dash for tach correct

Get yourself a FSM (Factory Service Manual) because the wiring diagrams they contain are golden. Even a 1970 PDF FSM (wildly popular) is not only free, but the majority of its content applies to your 1971 car.

This other site has the 1971 FSM in PDF form to download for free.

Make sure you grab them and store them for later use. Nothing lasts forever.

Since the rallye dash for a factory OEM tachometer was an option, the tachometer wire running from the negative terminal of the coil was stand-alone, and not included and taped within the standard engine wiring harness.

Section 8 of the FSM will show this 18 gauge GREY wire ran through bulkhead terminal #20 into the passenger compartment and up to the tachometer.

I made these pics for someone else on another site so might as well share them here too - engine side and interior side. I did this when converting from a standard gauge to a rallye gauge.
