SOLD 1972 340 trap door Air Cleaner assembly

1972 340 trap door air cleaner assembly.....This is supposed to be correct for 1972 model year only do to the trap door in the bottom.....good condition....older restoration but still pretty decent.....both the trap door and the exhaust heat flapper vacuum doors are hooked up and work when vacuum is applied...175.00 + shipping...postal M.O. works best for me....

I believe that 72' was the only year with that flap and it looks like mine so it is a 72.

This is rather depressing, I have a couple of these along with a `72 440 unit. I hope they do better at Carlisle. Check completed listings for these on Ebay, I think I saw one at $125 and I'm not sure if iy sold or not.

Apologize for the ignorance as this is my first "Mopar" restoration, but does a blue motor use an orange air cleaner or is it painted the same blue? Next question, if it is blue, would anyone see a problem painting this one blue? FYI, I already have a new 340 sticker to apply if re-painting is acceptable.

You can paint it any color you want but the orange is correct.

I believe the later 340 Chrysler blue block motors still had hemi orange air cleaners on them from the factory up until the last year of 1973....but you can paint it whatever color you like....The earlier 340's blocks were painted hemi orange and had black air cleaners but they were a different style air cleaner all together...
