1974 cuda driveshaft length

I am restoring a 74 cuda I took the 318 out and put in a 73 340 with a 727 transmission it has a 8 and 3/4 rearend what length driveshaft do I need to find? I don't have the engine dropped in yet but will soon hopefully.

Was the transmission a 904 behind the 318? If so you will need a new front slip yoke on the driveshaft. I'll see if I have the length here. If I do I will post it.

The book I have shows 43.85 inch for an Ebody Cuda with 340 and 727. I don't know if that is total length including the slip yoke or if it is excluding the slip yoke. I have one in the shop and can measure it tomorrow if you don't get an answer tonight.

Sounds like you have a Cuda driveshaft.

Sounds like you have a Cuda driveshaft.

See if the driveshaft is just short of 44 inches. If so it is for the Cuda.
