Does anyone know if the sure grip posi can be set to tight? I had my 3:91 sure grip for my 71 Cuda rebuilt by six states with new gears and new clutches. I have added the additive they suggested and put on about 1000 miles and it still grips and jumps when turning around in a parking lot or just pulling out from a drive way. In the way back years I had a 3:91 posi in a 72 Cuda and did not have this issue. I talked to the guy that rebuilt it and he said that just some are tight and some or not as tight just go and do lots of turns in a parking lot until it loosens up well that's not working!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Try a slicker oil, synthetic, or lower viscosity. If do search the web on posi/sure grip additives you will find some who do not use the additive because the diff will slip, others have the problems you have until they change the lube.. Good luck.

I used the term "Posi" in a post and was told it is not a Mopar term. It is a GM term. Chrysler it is just "Sure-Grip". There were two types of Sure-Grip, the Dana Power-Loc in the earlier 8.75s (clutches) and the Borg Warner Spin Resistant type (springs and cones) in the later types. Sorry that doesn't help you with your problem though. Just pointing that fact out.
