572 Hemi Swap

Has anybody out there put a 572 hemi in a Cuda with the rally hood? The guys at Mancini racing say I can use the standard V-8 K-member with the hemi adapter mounting brackets but may have a hood clearance issue since the 572's tend to have a taller intake. Thanks in advance.

I ran a 73 Cuda, bulge hood, stock 426 hemi and intake. It just fit, the Barton single plane on the crate 572 will not fit.

Thanks for the info. What are you calling a bulge hood?

Rally hood with the twin scoops, stock, steel.

Ok thanks. I'm having trouble finding a hemi k-member. I have thought about modifying a slant six one I have but haven't found any drawings or specifications to be able to accurately locate the mounts. I've looked at the adapter mounts for the V-8 k-member but worry they may raise the height of the engine a little. What did you use on yours?

All you need is any v-8 K-frame. Original Hemi K-frames are very costly. Use good quality engine mounts like Schumacher's.
