1970 Challengers w/o N95 had "NOT VENTED" gas caps

1970 Challengers with N95 had "PRESSURE/VACUUM" gas caps.

N95 was E.C.S. - evaporative control system - basically mandatory in CA only "California Emissions

All 1970 Challengers built in California and All 1971 Challengers on used the Pressure/Vacuum cap

I was told that this cap could be used on a 1970 Challenger as long as it is vented through the frame.

Visually, the Not Vented and Pressure Vacuum caps look identical but have different gaskets

I don’t think I can agree with the gaskets being different between the two caps. Here’s some pics of NOS versions of each.

Also, the wide “splines” on the side of the cap are unique for 1970 to match the 1970-only fill tube (top of this pic). I don’t know if the 70 CA ECS cars had a 70-style fill tube or if they used the later 71-4 style tube. If they had the 70-style tube that would mean there’s a pressure vacuum cap that has the wide spline as well.

I appreciate your thoughts on this.
Strange, I also have two other NOS pressure vacuum locking gas caps
The cap on am selling came from my 1971 Challenger vert/ 383 I bought in 1975 that I removed before I sold the car in the late 70's.
I am going to check the gaskets and splines on the other NOS caps that I have.

FWIW, the locking gas cap that came new on my '71 Challenger is Pressure/Vacuum and has the larger rubber gasket shown in floyd's post.
