Hello! I picked this car up an hour and a half from my house, about 12 hours after it went up on Craigslist. Always wanted a 70.
Ive own(Ed) a 67 charger, a 65 barracuda, and a 64 Polara golden anniversary. This would be the first car I have the financial capacity to make something fun out of.

I’d love to hear stories and suggestions on ways to modernize the car while keeping it mostly aesthetically stock. I was thinking hotchkis TVS, a nice chassis stiffening kit.
Maybe some dynamat? Is there places that sell modern glass (uv protecting?)

But hey, looking forward to the valuable store of info on here!

Welcome , Nice score ,!!
It is very possible to stiffen the chassis & add better suspension to significantly improve the car .

Hi! It has a cop 440 in it right now, and a b body 4 speed (lol). The car came yellow vinyl topped with a 383 727. Original engine is Mia. I’m thinking I might even go for a 392 hemi swap.

The first thing I’m trying to decide is whether to sandblast or dip the car. The internet seems to be full of different opinions on that subject.

If you are looking for determining factor. there are just as many factors as opinions. had the time and room.My choice was to sandblast myself. found a number of what I saw as original marking.in engine bay trunk lid doors and others. that might not be you case. also It was a factory undercoated car.had to be removed. removed with a 40-50k btu torpedo heater and a 6 inch elbow. literately fell of the floor boards. Looked brand new an shinny. lightly sand blasted for primmer. plug all that don't need it less clean up. hardest part was working in the trunk. Determining factor for me was it had the original paint. I did the under side, inside and engine bay. AS you disassemble you can change your mind. Time and $ would be the biggest factors.
