70' Dana 60

I picked this up today, I may end up selling it when another guy gets back to me about a B body dana he has. Is there any interest on here for this unit I have? The BOM# is 603080 -1
It currently has a 4.56 gear with ring gear spacer on the standard posi. I have a 7/24/69 3.54 gear to put in it. the current posi is 9/30/69

That diff carrier is different to the 4.10 or 3.54 ratio so if you plan on running 3.54 you will need the standard type diff carrier the one used for 4.56 or higher numerical ratio is part # 1929772 I don't know the part # for the other one.

aussiemark, the carrier is the original for the 3:54 gears. They are running a spacer between the ring gear and posi on the 4:56 to make up the difference.

Actually I didn't know there were date codes on the housing. Are they near the BOM stampings

On the one above the BOM# the 3 is turned sideways. So I see 10/2/9 and 10/3/9

Does this housing appear to have been altered or does it appear to be a stock e-body unit.

Here is a housing measurement. This is as close as I can get to 56 31/64" with this carpenter measuring devise. LOL. It has original housing ends. The only modifications I see are long studs, green bearings and the perches relocation.

It has a full set of 11" drum brakes that have very little use on them. The backing plates are in great shape.
