The F represents a 1970 model year 340. W = built in Windsor and the P = Premium fuel. That is a 70 engine; you can see the orange paint under the blue!

But it is a Numbers manifold for 71

My bad; You are correct; it is original to have a thermoquad spread bore carb on a 71 340. A square bore carter AVS were used on earlier 340's. (68-70)
