Does anybody know what fuel tank goes in a 71 340 cuda? single line or 4 lines ? my car was born April 1971..... I know there was a split on the year.
Adam i am trying to restore back to stock. i have a good used tank with just sending unit. When i took car apart my original fuel tank was tossed out. i have seen tanks with the 4 vent lines or no vent lines, im trying to put correct tank back in. My build date is April 1971. i heard late 71 -74 has the 4 vent tank.Hope this explains a little better. If I understand your question correctly...One fuel line; four vent lines, one of which is routed to the engine to burn the vapors. The fuel line obviously is where the sending unit is. The four vent lines will be close together on the Passenger side of the tank; internally they go to the four corners of the tank. If upgrading/replacing your tank I would suggest planning for a fuel return line just in case you go with fuel injection in the future..
this is a big help, thank you. do the 4 lines all go to that vent tube in the second picture? my name is Bill, what's yours? My SPD for my 340 Cuda' is April 30,1971 and I have the 4 lines. Sorry the car hasn't been restored yet.View attachment 33174 View attachment 33175

Ross thank you very much, have fun with your 71 cuda. what options do you have? Mine is a 71 numbers-340 4-spd gf7 sherwood green with chestnut interior. disc brakes and power steeringBill,
I took that picture about a month ago but I'm fairy certain that all four lines go to the vent tube and the fifth line ( Left, hard line) goes to the valve cover breather.
Ross
