My, my... they sure are proud of that car. For that money they won't have to worry about parting with it anytime soon.

Yes people act funny when on drugs. I don't get it though! If this price range is considered to be "fantastic" for a cloned cuda, then how did they get 3.5 mil for a #s matching one at the B.J. 's auction?
is there such a big difference between cloned and original?

It's all about production numbers, the more rare, the more $$. And numbers matching.

With the high prices they get for originals, cloners I think look to capitalize and try to make money on a clone.
It has to cost a fortune to build a car to that level and degree, especially if the builder uses NOS parts!

I never completely got the "# matching thing".. unless of course, you buy the car strictly as an investment (for which; I don't have enough money). :(

When I bought my 68 Charger, I passed on several R/T's, as I knew already then, that I would swap, upgrade or improve most of the parts which made it an R/T.

At a car recent show, I heard this guy, talking abt his ultra rare Mustang Boss something, and all I heard, was him defining the limitations of use, modifications and improvements which comes with a car like that. So, I'd be just as happy driving a clone, as long as it had the desired body style, and an engine which fit my needs.

I am into the Mopar cars, mainly because of the amazing shape of their bodies.. same reason I got into most of my.. well, never mind :D

I just want to say that B.J auctions is not for the drivers and fabricators of cars. They are for investors and speculators, and those who wish to expand there investment portfolios. So to build these clone cars. unless you own a shop and pay hire help that's cheap, any restoration is going to cost alot more then most of our wallets can dish out.Even if you can do all the work required yourself material costs money and really good material is expensive. So if you could find a seller of an original 71 convertible cuda hemi 4 speed car it's 5 million plus. so if one that has everything except a fender tag or vin # for 1/10 th price why not buy it and enjoy it if you have the means to do so. I would still rather have a clone hemi cuda then a new Ford GT myself. After all most of us make what we have into what we want it to be in the long run. My A body is a 69 convertible 6 cylinder Dart GT car, that I made into a GTS clone car or more like a GSS M code car from Mr Norm except they didn't put a 440 in a soft top A body ever. I did this because it had not been done by the factory and it is a blast to drive, parking not so much. I like to call her a tribute and not a clone, but I made her for me and have had her almost 30 years. marriage only lasted 10. Anyway building these hemi clones cost alot and I'm sure they are trying to double their money, but as a buyer how cool would it be to be able to sit down turn the key and drive it home, everything already done? No 4 years of headaches and waiting and worrying and stressing about how much this was etc.
