8-3/4 Axle Shafts

My '74 Challenger has the 8-3/4 non-posi axle. Unfortunately, when I took it apart to replace the bearings and seals, I didn't keep track of which axle shaft came from the left and right sides. Does it matter? I know the bearing adjustment ring goes on the right hand side, but just wondering about the axle shafts themselves.

Are they both the same? The length is the same, and the bearing and seal areas look identical.

I hope someone can advise me.

As you have found, the lengths are the same but the end play adjustment is always the right rear.

Thanks. I knew that the adjustment needed to be on the right, but I didn't know if there was a difference in the axle itself.
