Good morning, new to forum........did a search on this topic and didn't find anything so here is my question:

1974 Challenger 318,
Vehicle came with factory AC. I would like to remove factory AC hardware.

-Does anyone have a drawing or spec on belt & belt routing (?pulleys, idlers) of how the alternator is driven without the AC compressor being in line ?
-If I cap off the refrigerant lines at the firewall, what is pipe thread size for caps?

Yes, a seperate belt exists that drives the power steering pump.

The second belt which drives the alternator presently circles the AC compressor......so this is the one I'm looking to modify.

You will need......all for small block:
-crankshaft pulley
-fan/water pump pulley
-alternator bracket kit
-2 new belts (standard size for non-AC car)

In the new configuration:
1 belt goes from crankshaft pulley to power steering pump
1 belt drives water pump & alternator

Also, the 2 groove alternator will not line up good. You should plan to also buy a 1 pulley alternator

Probably $ 200 ish all in, but sure cleans up the engine compartment

I did an AC delete on a 383. I just needed the non AC water pump pulley and crank pulley and a new non AC alternator belt. I retained all my brackets and my two grove alternator pulley lined up. Got my pulleys from 440source.com.
