I have no idea on either one or the other.
Long story short, it was given to us from one of my wife's uncles estate who passed away a few years ago.
Supposedly, he went to Africa on a Hunting Safari years ago and had it transported back to the US.
I did talk to a Taxidermy place and I asked them at the time about permits, other questions, etc. they told me that at that point in time it would not matter much if any as it was already here for years. He added as long as it was an African Lion and not a California Mountain Lion no worries.

I can imagine you have to learn much about animals and were around more chemicals than in an automotive shop.
