Just installed a Borgenson steering gear and as I was waiting for the air to clear I noticed quite a bit
of gold flakes in the fluid. Don't know of any brass type components in the pump so assuming it maybe coming from the gear. I did happen to put a magna pure filter on I had laying around and sure enough the magnet had debris
on it. Can barely feel in btwn your fingers and haven't taken it for a spin yet but the steering seems smooth...for now.
