Wht exactly do you mean you are having trouble balancing ? 360 is externally balanced, uses a special flw plate/or torque convertor.
360 torque converter is neutral balanced, but it has a weighted flex plate. The weight is usually behind the flex plate, and can be seen when the converter is turned over. Aftermarket balancers for 360s are usually neutral, but have a weight bolted in.
Here are some other things to know about 360 torque converters:
- 360s are all externally balanced.
- If the 360 is automatic, you will need a 360 damper, and an externally balanced flex plate or torque converter.
- If the 360 is stick, you will need an externally balanced flywheel.
To test a torque converter, you can:
- Step on the pedal to the floor
- Accelerate your engine for up to five seconds
- Check the reading for revolutions per minute (RPM) at the stall speed
Some symptoms of a bad torque converter include:
- Illuminated check engine light
- Slipping between gears
- Shuddering
- Leaking transmission fluid
- Loss of acceleration
- Overheated transmission
- Weird noises
