Looking for the vin-ski. The dead giveaway is the seats. Only ones ive ever seen like that but im no expert. Also from what i know the car was originally yellow before red.

Any other info on the car? Like the license plate number, what year it was in what state? Perhaps an old registration?

The orange seats were available in 70 through mopar. XV designates the orange and black seats.

Most likely this car was not an XV car as a fy1 yellow car would not have had the XV seats. The seats were changed with the exterior paint color change.

Looks like it's a standard JH coded car. Due to the argent tail panel. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please. I'm still learning challengers.

So yeah. The car came out of NH around 1989. Was told it was southern car and original 340 car. When my friend bought it it was red and had been 440 swap. Brought to mass and just driven until about 1998-1999 when he sold it. Mass tag 948-SSW and prob last registered until 1995. I say yellow because the door panels were off and yellow paint but couldve been a door swap.

More info.. the car was purchased out of colcords autobody in franklin NH. in about 1989ish .the NH Tag was SLODOWN. It was originally a 318 car that had a 340 at the time he bought it. Then in the 90's it was swapped to 440. In the late 90's my buddy consigned sold it out of Corvette city in Manchester NH. That was the last he saw it.

Nice looking Challenger, I hope you find it.

I still have my 4 Alpine amps that I bought in the late 80’s.

I'm sorry... did someone say "Alpine" out loud?

A glimpse of my workbench, cluttered with part of my 38-deck, 25-amp, 16-EQ. and God-only-knows-how-many CD & DVD changers collection. Only the changers and one deck are from the post-Japan '92-up era; everything else is "golden era" stuff. I also have a number of first-series Nakamichi PA-3xx amplifiers and entirely too many Infinity speakers. It's definitely a problem. 😁

If you've any idea what you're looking at, the two decks atop the old PC tower are a 7909J and 7620E, respectively the best CD and cassette decks Alpine ever built. The 7620E was never even available in the US (or in a Lambo!). The Japanese-market 7909J model is widely considered the best CD player ever made, period--including home-audio units. MSRP on the US (non-J) 7909 was $1,700 in 1989--about $3,700 in today's coins.
