Anyone ever rebuild a hood latch?

I have a hood retaining latch for a 1970 Challenger that is loose. Just wondering if anyone has gone through one before. The one I have is an original dated coded that I would like to save if possible, even though my car is a tribute.

Shouldn’t be too difficult..

They have oiling areas at the rivets (look for small holes in the recesses around them). Sometimes you'll need to pound the "ears" flat where it mounts. Overall they're pretty simple.
