Hi Guys,
I'm going to replace the floor shifter with one that has a shorter handle. I currently have a B&M mega shifter. I am purchasing an aftermarket console and wanted something smaller.
I have narrowed my search to either the B&M Quicksilver # 80683 or the Hurst Pro-Matic # 3838500. Has anyone installed either of these shifters in their car? I have a 71 Challenger.

you should look at the dimension drawings... the two B&M shifters differ in height by about four tenths of an inch (12.61 v. 12.23) and the hurst is 17.5 total with the handle being 11.5 inches. The B&M drawings don't show the height of the handle separate from the body but i measured my megashifter handle and it's about 8.5 inches. So according to the drawings the hurst is 5 inches taller than the B&M shifters which differ by less than half an inch. Maybe gaddy 69 can confirm the height of the hurst shifter.

I used the B&M QuickSilver in shifter in my ‘70 Challenger. It works great for a ratchet style shifter and is easy to operate. Thanks, Al

I had one and it was fine but i'm not sure how it will work with a console. I removed it because I installed a manual transmission. I'm willing to part with it if you're interested.
