We are officially less than 100 days away from the kick off of the Chryslers at Carlisle. As in previous years, the FBBO tent will be a great way for those who will be attending an opportunity to meet up and put a face to the names that we see here on this site. If you are unable to attend, I am sure that pictures of the weekend activities will be posted so as to share in the memories created over the weekend. For those who have been to the event before, you are aware of what an awesome event this is. If you have never been before and are on the fence, it is without a doubt, the largest Mopar gathering anywhere.
Currently in preregistration, the FBBO tent is in second place as to the other groups/clubs which are recognized within the Carlisle registration portal. There is still plenty of time to move into first place for the club related activities. If you are attending and have yet to register, please mark the FBBO club as your club of choice. This does not impact your parking assignment or anything else, it just goes to count towards the number of entrants of any one particular club or organization. There is a prerequisite of 25 registrations to justify a tent in which Carlisle covers the cost and placement for the weekend. The more people that registers under the FBBO banner, then the larger the tent. As in previous years, we need the FABO, FCBO and FEBO to register under the FBBO club. If we should try to create say a tent for each of the other forum sites, we would only dilute the total involvement and would possibly end up without any tents for club/forum activities.
@HawkRod and his group are already planning the Saturday lunch activities. Hawk and his guys have stepped up each year and the lunch only continues to grow in size and variety. It takes a lots of planning and financial help to pull off what he accomplishes over the weekend. Also, due to the size and scope of the lunch and activities, him and his group sacrifices their time from the event to make it what it is for the rest of us. Last year, over 100 members of the FxBO groups stopped in during the Saturday luncheon to enjoy the feast. For those who have not enjoyed the luncheon, it is not a hot dog and a bottle of water, these guys have stepped the offerings up to be the envy of the other groups. As in previous years, I have already secured the tables and chairs for those who will be utilizing the tent.
If time allows, I will attempt to put together a rooster of those who will be attending and their location / car registration number. Carlisle usually starts to mail out your window stickers by the second to third week of June. Once you get your registration number, you can just private message me your user name, first name, registration number and a brief description of car for example; 69 Charger RT, red with black vinyl top. If you should be a vendor, just send me the same information including your space numbers and I will add that to the rooster. That way, for us who may not get by the tent, you can venture out to find that particular car number or swap meet space.
If you guys have any questions or concerns, please express them or private message me. We have been doing this show since 1992 and have seen it grow over the years to become a highlight of the year for many of us. Anyone who would like to assist with the lunch activities, please let us know. The tent will be up during the entire week and will be for your use and enjoyment. It can allow everyone a prescribed point which is noted in the Carlisle Event Guide on the map. The tent is a great place to hang out with fellow FxBO members to cool off from the sun or that afternoon rain shower.
As mentioned earlier, Hawk and his guys largely cover the cost of the lunch out of their pocket. A "kitty jar" will be set up for those attending who would like to kick in a couple dollars to cover the cost. Anyone who runs a business or have contacts which might like to donate door prizes or goody bag trinkets, let myself or Hawk know and we will highlight that as well.
Unfortunately, due to the size and my involvement with our business at Carlisle, I am pretty much chained to our tent for the week, so I am not able to venture up to the tent. But for those who will be in the swap meet, please walk by and say hello. Again, there will be chairs and bottles of water to refresh yourself. That July weekend will be here quickly and I hope that everyone can get out and enjoy the event. Just as the FBBO is the most active Mopar site currently on the web, we only hope to make the tent activities the most active and supportive for your weekend enjoyment.
