Presented by Amarillo Area Mopars a local club with over 100 active members!
Saturday October 17th meet at West Texas A&M at 11 AM and depart around 11:30. Arrival in the canyon around noon. We will set up the show and shine in the amphitheatre parking lot. The same one used for the production of the play "Texas".
Yes it's in Texas and one of the biggest surprises to non-residents of the area. Palo Duro Canyon provides breathtaking beauty only about 20 miles from the flatlands you see driving through on Interstate 40.
No water crossings need be crossed for this event and a parking lot for trailered cars at the First United Bank Center of West Texas A & M in Canyon TX will allow you to unload and enjoy the 20 mile drive in your baby if you wish to cruise to the canyon with us.
There is no cost to participate in this event except the reduced park entry fee of $2 per person (normally $5). There will be a show and shine with the coveted "Park Ranger's Pick" award, prizes, and dash plaques for the first 50 cars. There are plenty of wonderful photo ops with astonishing backdrops. This is a first anual event so if you would like to be part of history and start a new tradition of Mopar Madness halfway between the coasts please come and join us!
We will be cooking out so you can bring food and cooking equipment or just food to be cooked. There is also a gift shop with restaurant in the canyon. Local club members will be happy to drive you around the canyons winding roads if you have a supernice ride that doesn't do wet spots in the roads that are further into the park.
If you plan on joining us please reply to this post with the number of cars and people you are bringing. We want to do dash plaques and awards but need a good count before we can get things locked in. Sorry for the short notice but our local events have been snowballing.
