Clutch adjustment issue

I'm having an issue with the clutch in a 70 Cuda 383.

The clutch grabs at the upper most part of the pedal travel, right before you fully take your foot off the clutch.

The clutch appears to have plenty of disc material.

The nut on the rod is adjusted all the way towards the front of the car.

I have 1"-1 1/2" of free play at the pedal on mine checking by hand before I feel any resistance. I have a diaphragm pressure plate but I had the same with a 3 finger Borg and Beck.

Double check the Z bar & bushings. It could be cocked to the side.

Is the clutch fork pushed all the way onto the pivot?
