I've recently restored an 8.75 rear end for my 1970 440 Challenger and have 3:23 gears with a Suregrip. Can anyone post factory markings showing the correct designation of paint/ label markings on the housing and pumpkin that would match this setup?

Thanks!

I can post some pics in a few days, but other than the orange daub for the sure grip, I dont know what the marks mean...

Bear in mind that most of these pics the housing is upside down... also from a 71 Challenger.

Thanks Leo. According to that chart my 489 diff should have two blue, and one white mark, indicating a 3.23.. which it was! Now, if someone knows what the yellow numbers mean, that would be great for cv70chall and me. Looking at the runs in the paint I think the pumpkins were painted nose up...

This is all excellent info! Can anyone tell me what type pf paint/ exact color I should use? Obviously, white and orange are what they are- but what color blue gets used?
All these markings get placed on the bottom, so you can see them when the car is in the air, correct?
Lastly, what about markings on the back of the main housing? What is their designation?

My Challenger was a Hamtramck built car and it had the common circle and X in white paint on the rear; visible in the photos, barely.. I thin other plants had different markings, so look around..
