I have two E Body rears out of the cars ready for cleaning and reinstallation. This listing is for one of the rears, the one with 10"x2.5" drums $500 and the one without drum brakes $450 or if you want both, I will take $900 for both.
They measure 56 31/64" outside of flange to outside of flange, center line of flange dimension is 46" and come complete with big bolt pattern (4.5" dia. circle) axles. They are both Sure Grip center sections and are as follows:

With the drum brakes is a 489 Case with what appears to be either 2.76 or 2.92 gears and a pinion snubber that will need a new rubber bumper

Without the drum brakes is a 742 Case with what appears to be either 2.76 or 2.92 gears

I have additional pinion snubbers for the 8.75" pumkins as well as 10x2.5" drum brakes for additional $$. I can also supply you a set proper set of shock mount plates the 8.75" housing if you are changing from a 7.25" rear end again for additional $$.

Please send me a PM if you are interested and include a phone number and I will call you to discuss directly. Thanx in advance, Jim

It might help to know where you are located. Someone local to you will eventually be your buyer.

Well...unlike Forabodiesonly, this site does not list my location under my Avatar, sorry. I am located 20 south west of Annapolis, MD, 40 minutes south of Baltimore, MD and 40 east of Washington DC, zip is 20711, thanx for the heads up, Jim.

Never mind, took them apart today, finally had time. Neither are S.G units however one set of axles did have green bearing recently installed and are still good. I am now selling parts as listed:

489 case 2.76 gears 1973 date with snubber and pinion yoke $75
742 case 2.76 gears 1967 date with pinion yoke $100
Axles with adjustable bearing $50 pair
Axles with green bearings $100
10"x2" drum brakes $100
E-Body housing $50 (1)
E-Body housing $50 (2)

Shipping will be added to prices and will be based upon what you are buying (weight, size) and where it is going. Please send me a PM listing what you may be interested in purchasing, thanx, Jim.
