cuda vs challenger wheelbase

just curious, I already know that the challenger has a longer wheelbase... but I was thinking about it one day and hope that one of you folks could enlighten me as to why? was there a reason behind it or was it just dodge trying to make sure the cars were different enough? was there a change in performance?... just a little curious.

I believe the challenger has an extra 2" in the back seat leg room. Dodge was supposed to be the more luxury model.
I'm sure someone with more knowlege will chime in.

This is what I've heard too as far as why it was done. As far as performance is concerned, I'm sure it changes the geometry of the car but for good or bad I do not know.

I think the 2" are to make legal for a certain race sanction.

yeah I feel like the cuda with a shorter wheel base would be a better performer all around. smaller turning radius and weight transfer would be more favorable on a short wheel base car.
