Date code 727 will it fit?

I have a 727 trans STAMPED PK3898866 5689 3003 will it fit my 69 date coded 340? the torque converter cover plate doesn't line up with the holes on my trans.
thanks for any light shed on this.:BangHead:
will go by the engine builder and see if the plate lines up with the holes on the back of my 340

Here is a sample on how to decode your transmission;

Transmission Part Nnumber
PK 3410668 L 3028 6361
PK = Kokomo transmission plant
3410668 = Part number = 1970 Year model A727 for a 383 CID V8 HP
3028 = Build date = November 11, 1969
6361 = Sequential serial number = 6,361st transmission built that day

So a '76 that fits a 318/360 should fit a 340 right?

One other consideration besides tail length will be the torque converter that is used with the trans.
A 69 340 engine will be internally balanced. Later 360s were externally balanced and required a specific balanced/weighted converter. Don't think you can use the truck converter?

Yes I’m getting a new converter to go with the total rebuild of both 340 and 727. Being a 340 with a date code in 1969 i hope I’m good
