Disc brakes and small block kick down

1 set of a nice used Disc Brake set removed from a 73 Roadrunner Will bolt up and work on 66-74 B & E bodies. I would rebuild the calipers and add new hoses and 2 of the bolt holding the caliper to the spindle are missing. Spindles are great. $200 + ship

The 73 up B body uses a taller spindle than the Ebody. They will bolt into place. They can force the balljoints out of their designed range. They are 73 up parts for the B body. You could list them at www.forbbodiesonly.com

They can be used on a body as well and I haven't heard of any ball joint issues with the swap before. Where would I find this info?

I agree with challenger6pak I bought spindles like these for a 68 Charger and ended up throwing them in the bin because the return postage was too expensive was told they were off a 69 but they were longer, did the research and now I know the full story.

What carb is the kick down assembly from ? The 2bbl and 4bbl are different. The 4bbl linkage attach points are farther forward on the engine/manifold which causes the kick down linkage to be too short. Of course you could cut and weld in a section.

It's from a 2bbl and it wouldn't be hard to modify the carb rod if need be,all of the hard to find stuff is there.

You went through everything in the link and didn't see anything about staying away from the 73 B disc's?

Here is what you somehow missed.

Do not succumb to the temptation to use "lookalike" knuckles from later Mopars, such as 73-up B/R-bodies, F/J/M bodies, etc. These parts, while visually very similar, are taller, altering suspension geometry (camber change, bump steer, etc.), and possibly forcing the ball joints beyond their designed range, a/k/a “over angling”.

Key word is Possibly. E-berg never checked. Bill Reilly of Reilly Motorsports (the Alter-K-Tion guy, somebody with no dog in this fight) actually installed the setup and measured it: http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/chassis-suspension/mopp-0503-swapping-a-and-b-disc-brake-spindles/

Is it the absolute best choice? Not really. Is it suitable and will it work? Yes.
