I knocked some dust off my sleeper.....the carb needs some TLC....the paint is 80's single stage. Eng/Trans/rear operate fine etc...car runs and drives fine. Original CA BH23GOE w/date coded and built 69 340 block/heads, 904, 8 3/4 sure grip with a 4ish ratio. Original F8 green paint under all panels, decklid and rad support #'s all match (no heavy hit).

Would one merely preserve what it is and keep it running for heritage sakes from a "80's" rebuild - OR - go full on restoration into a different beast?

You'll get all kinds of opinions, but really comes down to how much $$$ and time you are willing to put out there.

Yeah, I'm thinking I"ll just keep fixing the little things as they pop up, and run it. I've thought about it many nights, but the reality of it for me is, I don't have the equipment (welder, air comp, air tools, etc) or the time to get into something like this....even though I have the ability. It sucks because I do have a vision for this car, I just can't justify getting there....and I don't want to sell it as another unfinished craigslist project.

Thanks for provoking my thought!

Drive the hell out of it. Fix it and re fix it. Eventually put some paint on it.

Of course, as I must, what is the fender tag information? Or is there a build sheet?
A 70 Barracuda can have all kinds of unique options.

I know you like this info : ). Out of curiosity, and I'm sure it's somewhere on this forum/site, but why do you like this info -- is it just a data logging hobby?

Anyway, No fender tag. I've probed around looking for a broadcast sheet years ago and never found one. Front seats are aftermarket. I looked under/behind the rear seat which is original, I think I remember looking behind the glove box, and my headliner is tore open --so looked there as well (though not thoroughly in the headliner). Zilch, nothing.

It's a LA built car. The only place I haven't looked was under the carpet which looks shitty enough to be original. Any other hiding spots I may have missed???

If you care to look at all the information, that thread will sum up what I'm looking for.

LA cars usually do not have a build sheet. That's a tough one. Perhaps inside the rear quarters there is proof of holes filled with bondo. I know, I'm always dreaming of the stupid option.

Anyway, I say drive the car. Once the stripes start to piss you off, paint it.
