where do i find the id numbers on a big block and how do i then id it lol

Thank u so much and at the risk of sounding dumb what is the difference between a b an rb and an la engine

The difference between B and RB blocks is that the RB block is taller (440-longer stroke). B stands for "low block"(383-the stroke is 3.375") and RB stands for raised block 3.75" stroke. Accessory brackets and exhaust manifolds should be interchangeable but the intake manifold isn't.

And just to add to the confusion
Big block Engine displacements;
B blocks came in 350B, 361B, 383B, & 400B sizes.
RB blocks came in 383RB, 413RB, 426RB, & 440RB sizes.
